In addition to the programs taught by an active status SSI Divemaster, active status SSI Open Water Instructor may teach, supervise and issue certifications for the following programs:

Scuba Rangers / Try Scuba / Scuba Skills Update / Perfect Buoyancy / Basic Diver / Referral Diver / Indoor Diver / Scuba Diver / Open Water Diver / Experienced Diver Test / Advanced Adventurer / Diver Stress and Rescue / Dive Guide

Specialty Ratings: Any recreational specialty courses that you are certified to teach will cross over to the equivalent SSI specialty course at no extra cost

SSI Advanced Open Water Instructor

If you hold a recognized MSDT rating you will be awarded the SSI Advanced Open Water Instructor rating

The SSI Instructor Crossover Program consists of 3 phases of skill development

• Academic Study ( Digital Course Kit)
• Academic Workshops
• Water Skills Workshops

The Academic Study must be completed prior to starting the course. Once you have signed up for the course you will have access to your digital Instructor Crossover Kit containing the required pre-study assignments. Recommended completion time is 2 days.

The practical training is completed over 2 days

• Minimum age: 18 years old
• Must have held an active equivalent rating to SSI Open Water Instructor from a recognized agency within the last two (2) years
• RSTC Medical Statement signed by a physician within one (1) year 
• Proof of CPR / First Aid & Oxygen First Aid training within two (2) years

• Proof of Open Water Instructor Certification/Rating with a recognised agency

• Tablet or Laptop for academic study / presentations
• Total Diving System – BCD, Regulator, Wetsuit, Dive Computer, Buoy & Reef, Mask, Snorkel & Fins

DIVE EQUIPMENT

As a Dive Professional at Instructor Level ideally you should have your own Total Diving System. At a bare minimum you should have your own:

• Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Dive Computer, Wetsuit, Buoy & Reel

If required BCD and Regulator can be rented from the Dive Center at 50% of the rental cost
